Psyvariar 3 brings the long running arcade shooter series back with fast paced vertical shooting, stylish neo retro visuals and a rewarding risk versus reward gameplay system. The buzz mechanic remains the heart of the experience, encouraging players to graze enemy bullets to level up, trigger temporary invincibility and strengthen their attacks. Combined with seven distinct playable characters and multiple game modes, there is plenty of replay value for shoot ‘em up fans.
The game looks impressive on PS5, blending 2D action with dynamic 3D backgrounds that capture the feel of classic arcade shooters while still feeling modern. However, the action can sometimes become overwhelming, with crowded screens and heavy bullet patterns occasionally making gameplay difficult to read. Even so, Psyvariar 3 remains an enjoyable and satisfying arcade experience that genre fans will likely appreciate.
