Sledders is a snowmobile simulator that drops you into a vast, snow-covered mountain range and leaves you to find your own entertainment. The graphics are decent, and speeding across the snow can be fun initially, but the novelty soon wears off. The controls are frustrating, even minor movements can send you crashing, and getting stuck in the snow means repeatedly resetting your vehicle. With no proper tutorial, learning how to handle the snowmobiles can be an unnecessarily awkward experience.
There are licensed snowmobiles from Lynx, Polaris and Ski-Doo, alongside multiplayer, proximity voice chat, replay features and community-made maps. However, there are no races, objectives or alternative modes to provide much direction. Sledders may appeal to snowmobiling enthusiasts who enjoy realistic riding and exploring with friends, but anyone looking for a game with meaningful challenges and varied activities will probably get bored quickly.
