REVIEW: Hyperstacks VR (2026 Video Game) on MetaQuest

Hyperstacks combines combat, parkour, puzzle-solving and level creation into a colourful VR experience that makes good use of its three core gameplay pillars. Combat benefits from VR weapons, environmental hazards and frantic encounters, while the movement system gives you climbing, grappling hooks, ziplines, jumping, teleportation and skating. The logic systems, powered by Greenlink, add another layer of challenge, with campaign levels introducing the mechanics progressively through character-led quests and interactions.

The level editor is one of Hyperstacks' strongest features, giving players accessible tools for creating enemies, traps, movement challenges, puzzles, logic systems, colours and lighting. Community-created levels add substantial replayability, while fast loading makes it easy to explore new creations. The sheer number of systems can make the experience feel somewhat unfocused if you are looking for one highly polished gameplay style, but the combination works well overall.

REVIEW: Tilt It! Golf (2026 Film) - on PC Steam

Tilt It! Golf takes a simple but inventive idea and builds it into a large set of bite sized physics puzzles. The focus is on momentum, gravity and careful control as you guide a ball through obstacle filled courses. With 300 levels across 15 biomes, there is plenty of variety and a steady sense of progression, supported by quick restarts that keep the pace moving.

On PC, however, the experience does not land cleanly. The tilt based control system feels more natural in theory than in practice with a keyboard, and the constant motion can become uncomfortable over longer sessions. While the structure and ideas have clear potential, the platform choice undermines the overall experience.

REVIEW: CINESCAPE VR (2026 Video Game) - on MetaQuest VR

CINESCAPE VR is a puzzle-focused VR adventure set across themed film studio environments, built around the Cinemorphosis mechanic that lets players shift objects between real and fake states. It has a strong sense of atmosphere, with detailed sets and a clear effort to make each area feel like a living production space. The core idea is inventive and gives the game a distinct identity within the Meta Quest library.

However, the experience is held back by uneven execution. Early interactions can feel unclear, and puzzle logic does not always behave consistently, which can disrupt progression. The pacing also struggles, with narrative momentum sometimes fading as players move through the studio trials. Even so, it remains an engaging concept with clear ambition, and it shows real potential if refined further.

REVIEW: Midnight Swamp (2026 Video Game) - on PS5

Midnight Swamp is a dark point and click adventure set inside a strange fairy tale world, where a simple night by a lake turns into something far more unsettling. It keeps things tight and focused, leaning into old school design with puzzles that are fair, logical, and satisfying to solve. The hand drawn visuals suit the tone well, giving the swamp and its odd inhabitants a slightly storybook but uneasy feel.

The game is very short, which is its biggest drawback, often finishing in under an hour. There is some replay value for achievements, including a missable task involving the cat, but the experience still feels more like a compact vignette than a full adventure. Even so, it carries enough charm and atmosphere to make it worthwhile for fans of classic point and click games.

REVIEW: The End of the Sun (2026 Video Game) - on Playstation 5

The End of the Sun is a first person adventure set in a Slavic inspired fantasy world where you play as the Ashter, a fire mage and tracker of mythical beings. You arrive in a village caught in a strange time rift, where reality has broken apart and only smouldering hearths hint at what once happened. Using a magical connection to fire, you uncover hidden traces of past events, interact with spirits, and follow the path of a legendary creature across a landscape shaped by myth and forgotten rituals.

The core experience revolves around moving between bonfires, solving light environmental puzzles, and travelling through time to witness different stages of the same village across seasons and years. Each discovery alters how events unfold, gradually revealing a larger mystery tied to the distortion of time itself. Exploration, investigation and atmospheric storytelling drive the experience, although progression can occasionally be disrupted by unclear direction or technical issues that affect flow.
