REVIEW: Lumentale: Memories of Trey (2026 Video Game) - on PC (Steam)

LumenTale: Memories of Trey is a monster collecting RPG set in the divided world of Talea, following Trey as he uncovers lost memories while forming bonds with creatures known as Animons. The review highlights a visually rich world, strong atmosphere and highly varied creature designs as key strengths, alongside a combat system that is strategic and rewarding once fully engaged. Turn based battles, elemental systems and team building across 1v1 and 4v4 encounters give the game real depth when it is operating at its best.

However, the experience is held back by slow pacing, especially in the opening hours, where heavy text and limited early engagement risk losing player interest. The review also points to a lack of polish, unclear mechanics and intrusive UI elements that disrupt flow during exploration and combat. While systems like trading, cooking and the Anispace add ambition, they are not always introduced cleanly. Overall, it is described as a game with strong ideas and good foundations that struggles with execution and onboarding, leading to a middling final impression.

REVIEW: Romancing SaGa-Minstrel Song-Remastered International (Video Game on Nintendo Switch)

Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song Remastered International is a challenging and deliberately old school RPG that focuses on freedom and experimentation over guidance. The free scenario system lets you pick from eight protagonists and explore the world without being pushed along a fixed path, which creates a strong sense of discovery but also frequent confusion.

The combat system is one of its strongest elements, built around Glimmer and Combo mechanics that reward learning and tactical thinking in battle. At the same time, the game is defined by its steep difficulty, grinding, and lack of clear direction, which can be frustrating for some players. Overall, it is a faithful remaster of a cult classic that offers depth and personality, but demands patience and tolerance for its harsh design.
