REVIEW: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (2026 Video Game) - On PS5

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy successfully takes the A Plague Tale series in a new direction without losing the atmosphere and storytelling that made its predecessors so memorable. The Greek setting looks beautiful, while the changing environments give each section of the island its own identity. Sophia is a capable and engaging protagonist, with Anna Demetriou delivering an excellent performance. Combat is faster and more fluid than in previous games, while clever light-based puzzles, tense stealth sections and the dual-timeline mechanic provide plenty of variety. The soundtrack and sound design are also excellent, helping create an atmosphere that remains strong throughout.

It is not without its problems. The opening takes too long to find its stride, combat and stealth can become repetitive, and the light-based puzzles occasionally hurt the pacing. The traversal mechanics are fairly simple, while the skill tree adds little to the overall experience. Even so, the story becomes increasingly compelling as it progresses, and the new direction successfully expands the A Plague Tale universe. It may not reach the heights of A Plague Tale: Requiem, but Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy remains an enjoyable and worthwhile addition to the franchise.

REVIEW: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced (2026 Video Game) - on Xbox

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced successfully brings back one of the franchise's most memorable adventures while improving many areas that needed modernising. Built using the latest Anvil engine, the remake delivers enhanced visuals, improved parkour, upgraded stealth, a better exploration system and impressive weather effects that make sailing the Caribbean more enjoyable than ever.

Having originally not been a huge fan of the pirate elements in Black Flag, this remake completely changed my opinion. The improvements to gameplay, the removal of the old present-day sections, and the introduction of the Animus Hub and Rifts make this feel like a much smoother experience. With around 70 hours of content available through exploration, side activities and the main story, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a top three Assassin's Creed game and a fantastic return to Edward Kenway's adventure.

REVIEW: The Rogue Prince of Persia (2025 Video Game) - On PS5

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a 2025 2D roguelike platform game developed by Evil Empire and published by Ubisoft. It follows an unnamed Prince who relies on fluid parkour movement and fast paced combat as he fights through procedurally generated levels set around the city of Ctesiphon. The gameplay is built around wall running, wall jumping, swinging and agile traversal, combined with melee and ranged attacks, kicks, dodging and quick weapon switching. Progression comes through Medallions, coins and weapon upgrades, while a time travel mechanic sends the player back to a hub called The Oasis after death, where skills and gear can be improved for the next run.

The game works best when movement and combat flow together, creating energetic runs that feel responsive and skill driven. It captures the spirit of the Prince of Persia series and reshapes it into a roguelike structure with strong pacing and satisfying core mechanics. However, it does suffer from repetition over time, with limited variety becoming more noticeable during longer play sessions. Overall it is an enjoyable and well made action roguelike that delivers a solid experience, even if it does not fully escape its repetitive nature, scoring 8 out of 10.
